Our Story
Erich Rohrer
Erich currently works public safety at CBN/Regent University. When he is not working, he enjoys dancing (a shared hobby he has with Hannah); gaming (arguably a little too much); martial arts; hanging out with family/friends; and naps.
Q: How did you meet Hannah?
A: We went to the same dance academy, but we rarely interacted due to the lack of common classes at first. Later on, we became friends through hanging out with a mutual friend. During this time we also had a dance class together. On Thursday nights, I would pick Hannah up from her university classes and get food before going to dance. Next thing you know, we became best friends and a couple months later we started dating.
Q: What was your first date?
A: Ah, well…it was nothing fancy. We went out to dinner at Moe's Southwest Grill for our “first” date. We ate, laughed, and chatted for a good hour or so. We still go to that same restaurant for dinner dates and sit at the same table when it’s not already taken. As of today it is still one of our favorite dinner places both for the memories and the queso.
Hannah Colasurdo
Hannah is working on her Master of Fine Arts degree. Her hobbies include dancing, photography, painting, playing violin/viola/ukulele, sewing, and crafting in general.
Q: Favorite memory so far?
A: I think one of my favorite memories so far would be when we walked Grimes Glen together in upstate New York. (1) because the waterfall at the end of the glen was gorgeous (2) because I like walking and talking and (3) because it was pretty much the only day of the trip that Erich didn’t have a blistering sunburn on his legs (it’s easier to avoid sunburn when the bottle of sunscreen isn’t dropped to the bottom of a lake).
Q: How did he propose?
A: Erich tried to take me to a nice dinner, but he made the mistake of letting me choose the restaurant. I chose Chick-fil-A. Needless to say, not one of the most romantic proposal meals. Instead of eating in the restaurant, we took our food to Oak Grove Lake - one of our favorite spots. While I was busy shoving my face with food, I started to get suspicious because Erich was acting funny. It was then I realized what was happening. I had a giant chunk of chicken in my mouth I now couldn’t swallow so I ended up spitting it into the woods. I then had Erich drive me home because I had to go to the bathroom, but hate using porta potties. After all that, Erich was still determined, so he ended up proposing to me in my living room.
